ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ - ASI Bursary

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ is delighted to announce applications are open for the new ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ - ASI Bursary. The establishment of this bursary marks a significant milestone in the long standing partnership between ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ and the Association of Surgeons India.
The ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ- ASI bursary will provide two successful applicants the opportunity to attend a free ASI course in Kolkata, along with up to £1000 each for travel, accommodation and subsistence.
Applications are welcome from Members of ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ, or those on IPD training programmes, who are ST3 and above, and able to demonstrate a commitment to global surgery.

Binks Bursary for Medical Student Electives

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, in association with the Binks Trust, offers medical students an opportunity to apply for financial support, of up to £250, towards their elective abroad in surgery.
Applications are open to UK and International medical students, who are enrolled in universities in the UK and Republic of Ireland undertaking approved surgical electives abroad. Students must be affiliates of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in good standing.

Binks Bursary for Medical Student Electives in Africa
Deadline: 31 January 2026
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is offering a number of bursaries for elective placements in Africa.Â
The elective need not necessarily be in a surgical specific unit, but priority may be given to students demonstrating an interest in surgery.Â
The bursary will comprise a single payment of up to £500 which can be used towards travel and accommodation costs, or other expenses involved with the placement such as vaccinations and visas.
