Call for Applications: SASLED Committee Roles

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is inviting applications for vacancies on the SASLED committee, with effect from November 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and representation of SAS and LED professionals within the College.  

The Committee represents Specialty Doctors, Associate specialists, Specialist Grades, and Locally employed surgeons (LED Consultants as well as junior doctors) in both the medical and dental fields. Surgeons in these grades are diverse in background, experience, and seniority which means that there is a wide range of issues covered by this Committee.

The committee members will be responsible for assisting the Chair, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ SASLED Committee with educational development initiatives and promoting career development for SAS, LED, and Locally Employed Surgeons. They will support the core aspiration of the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ College to allow each individual to achieve their full potential, delivering a safe and high standard of surgical care.

Application for membership of the Committee is open to all Members and Fellows of the College in good standing in the above grades. The Committee is chaired by the elected SAS representative on the College Council, current Chair is Mr Majid Mukadam.
