Skills Competition Stages
Now that you’ve seen what is possible and hopefully feeling excited about signing up, here’s a guide on what to expect once you register.
- Online Quiz: After you register, you will be sent an online quiz. The top five scoring participants from each medical school will move onto the next round.
- Skills Kit Video Round: If you move onto the next round, you will be sent a skills kit. We will ask you to perform three skills and don’t worry you will have time to practice! You will video yourself performing these skills and send them in. Your videos will be scored by College markers and the top score from each medical school will move onto the final. We will also award a trophy to the top scoring medical school!
- Grand Final: You’ve registered; you’ve gotten a top score on the quiz and top score on your suturing skills in your own medical school – now it’s time to compete against other medical schools! If you’ve scored the highest at your medical school in the video round, you will be invited to Edinburgh to compete in the Grand Final. This is a one-day event on Saturday 14 March 2026. You will travel to Edinburgh the Friday evening before, have a dinner with peers from other medical schools, and then get ready to compete on Saturday! ºìÐÓÊÓƵ will cover the cost of travel and accommodation.
So, all we have left to say is, what are you waiting for and good luck!
The deadline for registration is Sunday 5 October, so don’t delay and register today: .
