Final Sitting of MRCS (ENT) OSCE Announced for February 2026

Published: 5 September 2025

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is informing candidates that the final sitting of the MRCS (ENT) OSCE examination will take place in February 2026, hosted by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

The online component will be held on Monday, 16 February 2026, followed by the clinical OSCE on Wednesday, 25, Thursday, 26, and Friday, 27 February 2026.

Applications will open across all Surgical Colleges on Thursday, 20 November 2025, and close on Thursday, 4 December 2025. However, places are strictly limited to 250 candidates, with applications processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Colleges may close applications early if capacity is reached.

This will be the final opportunity to sit or resit the MRCS (ENT) OSCE. Going forward, entry into Higher Surgical Training in ENT will require successful completion of the MRCS Part B, as confirmed by the ENT Specialty Advisory Committee. Candidates can opt to transition to MRCS Part B at any time without sitting the MRCS (ENT) OSCE.
